SINOTRUK and CFAO KENYA Jointly Hold Green Future Tree Planting Event to Boost Kenya’s Ecological Conservation

Recently, SINOTRUK, a global leader in the commercial vehicle industry and China’s pioneering heavy-duty truck manufacturer, joined hands with its long-term local distributor CFAO KENYA to successfully organize the Green Future Tree Planting Event in Kenya. This public welfare initiative is not only a concrete practice of SINOTRUK’s consistent green development philosophy but also a sincere effort to respond to Kenya’s national ecological conservation strategies, deepening the friendly cooperation between the two parties while contributing to the construction of a greener and more sustainable future for Kenya.

On the bright and pleasant event day, the atmosphere at the Kakamega Forest in Iloro was warm and lively. More than 700 enthusiastic participants from all walks of life gathered together, including representatives from the Kenya Forest Service (KFS), experts and volunteers from the International Tree Foundation (ITF), officials from the local municipal government, teachers and students from nearby schools, and residents of the surrounding communities. All participants came with a common goal: to take practical actions to restore the degraded land of Kakamega Forest and pass on the concept of environmental protection to more people.

Before the tree planting officially started, professionals from the Kenya Forest Service gave a detailed on-site training to all participants. They patiently explained the characteristics of local native tree species, the correct methods of seedling selection, planting depth, soil compaction and post-planting maintenance, ensuring that each sapling could take root and thrive in the new soil. With full enthusiasm and a serious attitude, the participants listened carefully, asked questions actively, and mastered the key tree-planting skills under the guidance of the experts.

As the event kicked off, everyone rolled up their sleeves, picked up shovels and buckets, and got busy in an orderly manner. Some dug pits according to the standard spacing, some carefully put the seedlings into the pits and straightened them, some filled the soil and stepped on it firmly, and some watered the newly planted saplings with care. The sound of shovels digging soil, the laughter of everyone working together, and the rustle of wind passing through the forest constituted a beautiful and warm picture. Despite the sweat on their brows, every participant had a bright smile on their face, because they knew that every sapling planted today would become a new hope for ecological restoration in the future.

After a day of intense and joyful work, the participants successfully planted 1,000 high-quality saplings on one hectare of degraded land in Kakamega Forest. These saplings, full of vitality, stood neatly on the once barren land, adding a touch of fresh green to the Kakamega Forest and bringing new vitality to the local ecological environment. More importantly, this event effectively raised the awareness of the local community about forest conservation and environmental protection, making the concept of “protecting the green home together” deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Many local residents said that they would take this event as an opportunity to actively participate in environmental protection activities in daily life and work together to protect the precious ecological resources around them.

A representative from the Kenya Forest Service delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the event, expressing his sincere gratitude to SINOTRUK and CFAO KENYA for their active efforts and generous support for Kenya’s ecological conservation. He said: “Kakamega Forest is one of the most important ecological barriers in Kenya, which plays a vital role in regulating the local climate, maintaining biodiversity and protecting water resources. This tree planting activity initiated by SINOTRUK and CFAO KENYA not only effectively helps the restoration of degraded land in the forest but also sets a good example for the whole society to participate in ecological protection. We highly appreciate this kind of responsible corporate behavior and look forward to more in-depth cooperation with SINOTRUK and other enterprises in the future to join hands in safeguarding our common green home.”
A representative from CFAO KENYA also stated that as SINOTRUK’s trusted local partner, they have always adhered to the concept of win-win cooperation and sustainable development. “Working with SINOTRUK to hold this tree planting event is a precious opportunity for us to give back to the local community,” he said. “We will continue to work closely with SINOTRUK to actively participate in various public welfare and environmental protection initiatives in Kenya, and make greater contributions to the local social development and ecological progress.”

Looking ahead, SINOTRUK will always adhere to the green development philosophy of “environmental protection first, sustainable development”, integrate environmental protection concepts into every link of enterprise development, from product R&D and production to market operation and social responsibility. The company will continue to strengthen cooperation with global partners including CFAO KENYA, actively participate in environmental protection and public welfare initiatives around the world, take practical actions to fulfill corporate social responsibility, and work with all sectors of society to build a better, greener and more sustainable planet.
